What is the root of Hermeticism and how did the Medieval traditions and the Renaissance revival incorporate it into the Secular and religious scientific and magickal practices.  And just what does it have to do with Martial Arts systems indigenous to Europe?

Jeff Richardson began studying Eastern martial arts in 1982. In 1986 he began sport fencing under former U.S.A. Olympians Gay Jacobsen-D’Asaro and Michael D’Asaro, Sr.   In early 1992 he became an assistant instructor and tournament promoter for The American Karate Academies National Association and earned his Black Belt in 1995 under Hanshei Jerry Piddington. Since the late 1980’s Jeff has spent time doing fight choreography for stage and film.  Jeff came to historic fencing in the early 90’s as a reinactor and helped to found Academia Duellatoria in  Ashland, Oregon.  Mr. Richardson is a practicing Shamanic, a NROOGD initiate, and a member of the Order or Thelemic Knights.  He now teaches in Portland at  Academia Duellatoria:

This class is designed to spark up a new flame of hope in some area of your life that needs gentle stoking. Regardless of what path you’re on, candle magic is for everyone!

Do to venue restrictions no candles will be lit, but each participant will receive a candle to test out what you learned, at home in your own sacred space, while supplies last.

In this introduction to Sex Magic historical, philosophical and practical components of this tradition will be shared.

In particular, the ideas of Paschal Beverly Randolph, Ida Craddock,  Aleister Crowley, and  Kenneth Grant will be referenced. We will also discuss the relationship of some of these ideas to the Kaula Tantra tradition.

Basic ethical and pragmatic approaches to this form of practical sorcery  will also be discussed. Age 21 and over.

Mark Shekoyan is an Applied Anthropologist of Consciousness whose path has led him to learn with Kundalini Yoga practicing Sikhs in the Pacific Northwest, Spiritual Mediums in a Taiwanese Taoist Folk Sect, and adepts in the Bay Area occult community. He is a committed practitioner of integral disciplines and has studied and taught Kundalini Yoga, Qi Gong and various martial arts, along with facets of Western Esotericism for many years.

He is a certified instructor through the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (1999), The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (1998), the World Tang Soo Do Association (2nd Dan 1996), The World Hwa Rang Do Association (1st Dan 2007). Mark holds an MA (1994) & Phd (1999) in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Oregon and works as a Design Anthropologist in product development for a Bay Area Technology Company.
